I have emailed a different Syndicate Host in the uk Hope its not weeks before I hear from her lol Lesley :~)

OMG I have just read the tips for new transcribers on Freebmd and now Im confused lol What have I let myself in for lol I hope its not as confusing as it reads lol

I tried to do it but the instructions werent helfpul at all...even my OH ''the pc wizz'' couldnt understand it, Co-ordinator wasnt helpful either, So now Im transcribing for the SHROUD project,

Claire It seems a couple of people have had a bad time trying and others have no probs at all and get loads of help from the Co-Ordinator aswell Hope I get loads of help I will need it lol Lesley :~)

Hi Lesley I transcribe and find it really easy, I have been sent typed pages, so although a lot of names its been fairly straightforward. I only get sent one page at a time and I take as long as I need over it. Some weeks I do about 3 hours, others I dont do any. Hope you hear seomthing soon, I heard within hours!

Hi Maureen thanxs for that Well First I joined a Syndicate and then after I had sent a Message to the Syndicate Leader I realised he was in New Zealand and the time difference is too big for me to be able to get quick feedback if I had any problems.. So I sent him another Email telling him I was going to join a Syndicate with a UK Leader...( Heard nothing from him yet) Then clicked on different Syndicate with a Uk Leader sent her a message asking if I could join....( Heard nothing from her yet) Then I realised I had to fill out Registration form ...So I did that....Got sent Confirmation Email straight away ......Filled in All details...Name...Email addy......ID etc.......Message stated that my info been sent to Syndicate Host in Canada for Confirmation.......which happens to be the host of the same Syndicate that he Lady I sent Email to hosts aswell... and now I am waiting for next step whatever that is??????? Do I wait for an Email? Do I download stuff off Freebmd site? Lesley :~)

I am with ScribeScan (top of the list ) on bmd, Lesley is really helpful. You can go ahead and download the software ready, I use WinBMD to transcribe into. I also find Irfan View invaluable to open the page to be transcribed in, it makes it easier to read. There is a place where you can subscribe to for help from other transcribers, the messages are sent by email, can't remember where I found that out. Hope it goes well

Thanxs Marlene :~) So I am waiting for Email with a tester on then... How long do you think I should wait to hear off them? I dont want to keep emailing them unecessarily asking when Im getting info...they think Im harassing them lol Well done on having yours put up WOOHOO bet you were happy :~) Lesley :~)

I didnt get a test one to do, but that may because it was a typed one.

Thanxs Maureen :~) I have joined Scan2 I wrote to Angela then when I clicked to register it said my Co-ordinator is Derek from same Syndicate. I think I will download the stuff ready.... I noticed that when I logged in (Just testing it) it comes up with *File Management* for me do I do anything with it or leave it? Lesley :~)

Marlene I have a Submitter ID I did that last night ..Just realises I need an Aditional number from them ...Yes? I have just logged on using it and now where do I go? it takes me into File Management for .... <<< (My ID) Sorry I am being a total pain in the backside...when I have done it once I will be fine..... Marlene I have recieved your Email thank you :~) Yes it does make sense I need to wait for Derek to send me a Training Page then. If he uploads things at Midnight How come I still Havn't heard from him I wonder? I have gone onto Scan2 Syndicate Link off your Email and it says it doesn't recognise my ID so I guess I had better wait til Derek gets in touch before I mess everything up lol Thank you for all your help :~) Lesley :~)

I used to transcribe for them. The hardest part of it is setting it all up on your PC, but they give you step by step instructions so it's not hard at all. After that, all you have to do is type up what you see. You can put certain symbols in if you are unsure of what it says and they are checked once you send them up so you don't need to worry about getting it wrong. You don't need a scanner or anything like that - you don't even need a printer. Give it a go and if you don't like it, just let them know. Anything you do helps us all. Thanxs Andrea for the encouragement... I am waiting for them to send me a Tester Page and it seems forever since I registered (11Pm Lastnight) lol Everyone on here has been so helpful as usual and they have bullied me into trying it lol I was only enquiring lol

I still havn't heard from anybody Ahhh wish they would hurry up lol
