Is it going to be a twist like Big Bro and the prize will be staying with O.C. for the next three days cleaning the house from top to bottom in expectation of the arrival of super housewife friend? |

When I made a short visit to Cornwall at Christmas (don't ask!)....I saw someone collecting wool from barbed wire fences, muttering, ''must get those settlement certificates and court-leet papers this week''....I don't know who it was, but they had a book hanging out of their bag entitled, ''Learn Norman French in Three Weeks''. Any ideas???? Merry |

And, as I am in a magnanimous mood (half a bottle's worth) I will reveal a closely guarded secret: Norman French is remarkably like common or garden french, only without the accents and circonflexes. Lot of fuss about nothing, if you ask me! OC |

Why don't we arrange a big spring cleaning party for census night 2011 (plenty of time to stockpile the dust in preparation), just to break the record for the biggest household, and leave researchers of 2112 scratching their heads as to exactly what all these completely unrelated people were doing in the same house? |

Oooh have I won? I'm so excited....I was about to enter my g-g-granparents' 75 grandchildren to the thread yesterday only to hear that Old Crone could top that record so I'm thrilled to win this prize today. On hearing the term broom cupboard, I was really hoping that the prize would be a witches broom to replace my old one which is getting a bit tatty but I'm delighted to receive a yellow duster, I'm sure it will be kept as good as new for many years to come. Many many thanks Heather ( hope the speech is ok) |

Aren't you supposed to thank your mum, your agent and the cat? |

Merry, loved the thought of OC collecting the bits of wool from barbed wire - lol (can she really do Norman French or even Norman Wisdom french - does that involve falling over a lot when you get to a circumflex or circumcision?) Also LOVE the idea of the 2011 meet - we could all change our names, but not by deed poll, just before that date, couldnt we. And can someone collect the places and years of birth on a bit of scrap paper to hand the enumerator? And can we all be p***** as newts when we spell our names? Love it. |

Michael, Sorry, I forgot in all the excitement, I had to find a tissue cos I'm so overcome with it all. I would like to thank my g-g-grandparents for having so many children and having their relatives living with them on census day and just think, if ggg-grandma hadn't gone gallivanting with one of the children, the number of people in the household would have been higher. Saw your photos on the front of the national papers this morning, Heather and Heather (one crying coz she won and the other coz she didn't)....... I have bubble-wrapped the duster-socks and they will be forewarded in an unmarked brown envelope.....You don't want the postie knowing you do housew**k. Maybe we could set up a housew**k museum and all send all of our housew**k kit along???. Mine is all in gleaming condition......unlike the house...... Merry |

What did you think of the see thru dress? I got that at a charity shop. Glen ran up the matching stole. (He was the little guy in the kilt holding my gold lame snatch bag for me) |
