One of my ancestors sisters was called Fanny Brain. Obviously, the family werent too fussed about explicit names for their children. Imagine what stick they'd of got at school. Ben |

Hi I quited liked the one I came across today while searching the Hugh Wallis IGI site. Mr & Mrs Gotobed and another one I've seen several times. Call your daughter Rose, Primrose, Marigold, Daisy but how about Lettuce! Paul |

Paul - you obviously didn't have a sister or other female rellie who read Bunty comic. One character I remember (en passant, and in the interests of research, you understand) was Lettice Leaf. I think as a girl's name it's normally spelt with an i not a u, so maybe the registrar wsn't familiar with the name. J |
