Wilf, you will have to be a contestant on Seal, No Seal - where we all try to decide whether John Smith who married 'Mrs Smith' is the correct person, as submitted by the LDS Church Member (or LSD as I recall Ed once referred to it). Id like to involve as a contestant, the 'american cousin' who contacted me with a tree back to the early 17th century and who told me he regularly went to Utah so HE must be right, that my GGFx2 who was a lighterman was be born and lived in the farming area of Richmond, where we all know there was plenty of opportunities for dock workers to ply their trade. |

My grandma always celebrated her birthdate 12th December WRONG her birthday was 12 October. Her twin brothers death was registered on the 12th December. What a terrible mistake. This came to light when she needed to confirm her age for pension way back in the late 1950's This is of courseis family only knowledge. Same as my grandad is down on 1891 and 1901 census as nephew when in fact he was son, his mother having brought him up as her nephew but again only later came to light. No way would this show on other peoples trees only family can know this. |

Can I join too OC? I have a delightful rellie who is also researching the family history. Unfotunately for any future researchers of our common ancestors this rellie is also a member of the latter day saints and the errors are howlers. I will never believe the IGI ever again lol. Never trust a submitted! Wilf :-) |

Hi all. A lot of people have my mum in their tree as being born in Norfolk. I have her original b'cert and it was Southwark. And the family didn't move between birth and registration. Have a gr. aunt who I am reassured died and was buried in Canada. Nearly correct, she visited her brother there once and when she died her house name was Toronto, well it says so on her death cert but I am often told I am wrong. I was naughty once when an American (not Smith) asked for my tree info and said he would send me a copy of his. Lo and behold it arrived with all of my tree stuck onto his virtual forest. I got back to him and denied the joining birth of my tree to his but he insisted that a marriage took place beteen two pre teen children. I then sent him some more info ...this time it was a load of the bull preverbial that I made up as I went along and he now has it on his tree. Do I qualify to join please? Roger GC (Just finished washing up after a dinner party) |

Take the very words out of my mouth ...latest contact is fighting back - no marriage place or date (so how do they know who the parents are, I ask myself) but she is DEFINITELY buried with her husband...unhhh? Does it give the name of her father on her grave then? Your guess is as good as mine. First child of this marriage born two years after my rellie's death. Found the baptism of this child - guess what, her mother has a different first name from our 'mutual' rellie. Heather - hand over that Piggy Bank RIGHT NOW, I deserve a little solace, 3.99 will do it, Lidl's gin. OC |

And for those badly overgrown and neglected trees you will be delighted with............ Underground Force, your host Charlie Dumbsmuck unearths the beauty within your tree, whilst Tmmoy Wailsh constructs a weatherproof gazebo for your certificates to be displayed in,all in two days. Of course there is one problematic area, the religious channel also requires a 'family programme',now that DOES need work. |

Glen You've got that one wrong I am afraid. A combination of Heather and Tinsel Knickers should in fact be SMAO (where the S stands for Scratch) Tina (still singing) |

Of course, me being an intellectual, I rather favour setting the questions for 'Millionaire' 'And now - the one million pound question - is PHTHISIS a) A Himalayan flower b) A thesis, as written by Blair's wunderkids c) A Korean make of car d) Wrongly spelled. (Lots of spiteful fun to be had here - the winner gets one million, we all write in and tell them its wrong, and what it really is, the winner loses his million - with a bit of luck and natural justice, he will be the GR member who is passing my false tree round the Internet) OC |

Glen, as I choked on a pizza slice thinking about your suggestions - the one we must do - The Generation Game. Six families can start off vying to win a trip to Utah and after a series of embarrassing and humilitating experiences - i.e. not having their white gloves at a records office, ending up in the tropical gardens area of Kew, thinking the LMA is a record label etc. the successful tribe are awarded an honarary baptism by the LDS live on tv and then we see them board a plane for a months holiday under the mountain in Utah surrounded by every name in the world to sort through. |
