Treasure Hunt Find Olde Crone's missing James Holden. The two teams of minor celebrities are given cryptic clues, gleaned from census information, Marriage and death certs, family recollections and hearsay. They have to race round the countryside, headed by Anneke Rice with her bouncy bottom (much camera work there) following all the false leads and getting breathlessly excited. The prize when they find his parents is a copy of my newly-made Will, in which I leave them EVERYTHING! OK, probably a minority interest programme, but I am fully prepared to fund it myself. It could be shown on CH4 at 3am - lots of anoraks watching then, I'm sure. OC

Tina, you could only see a fleeting glimpse of me in the ten minute preview,then the signal gets encrypted,and a special phone line is activated to allow further viewing. So my 15 year old says anyhow Glen

Fantastic idea, Heather. To handicap OC and Phoenix, I suggest that they have to do it blindfold. That way they have to work totally from memory and are not allowed to refer to their notes (no dictaphones, I-pods or anything else they might have recorded the info on). Who is going to be the person who greets them as they come out of the house and escorts them to the prison ship? I am sure that you would be brilliant in that role, Heather, but Glen in his tinsel knickers might increase the audience ratings even further - bring in a different class of viewer and all that. And I just thought Glen, what about 'Catchphrase'. You could have a genial Irish Host (who do we know who is Irish and genial?) and the contestants have to work out from a parish register entry made by a drunk or senile vicar which of seven James and Sarahs a child belongs to. Well ........., I suppose Glen, we could have an Aus off shoot - we could have all the contestants in the Big Bovver house transported one by one if they steal a chicken from the fridge or blaspheme? Instead of eviction night we could have execution night where, if they answer the questions correctly they go to Sydney instead of the gallows via a cargo ship that takes 3 months? On punishment week they get one pencil and one tree sheet between the lot of them and have to work out how to connect their 15 different families to a common ancestor over a 500 year period (Trouble is for O.C. and Phoenix that would probably be fun - mmm, may have to think of something different for them two).

Hello please sign me up OC. My qualifications: I've just finished fixing my Mum's tree. She had the one guy entered 4 times on the tree. It was quite an impressive blunder she'd made. I've also disproved GreatAunt's info that we came from John X. We actually came from George. From what I can tell John died unmarried and childless. Hello From Down Under, I am not sure if I qualify for membership but I will apply, as I have an u/k father -- a Ken King and also-- a Peter Smith in my tree . Just picked up this thread, will join. I was originally sending messages like did your 'John Bloggs marry Jane Whoseit' to people 'cos I didn't realise that when you clicked on the 'contact' beside 'John Bloggs 1867 Neverland' all the contact got as a heading to their email was John Bloggs. So sorry anyone that got one. I don't fill all the details on my GR tree 'cos it's not my main software and I just haven't go time, but if anyone contacts me and we think there's a link I'll get my data to them somehow. It also means I don't give much away when I share GR tree. Can't see why anyone would keep bits of the wrong family in tree, there's enough problems when you've only got what you're pretty sure is right. I thought I had a good link with a detailed researcher, but turned out 2 people same name, born same year, same area, and it took a third person to point that out, it hurt, but at least it's a correct tree, even if 'hard pruned' on that branch at present. Oh this is too long to read all the replies herein OC Holden In olden times it was well known for marriage contracts to be arranged whilst children were still young in some cases before they were born although these had to be subject to the desired sex of the child. ;-) Going on from that it was also held that an agreed contract constituted an actual marriage so in the case of your ancestor it is most likely that she was contracted to marry JOE BLOGGS their children were also contracted as were the grandchildren, gt grandchildren etc. until we arrive at the present day where these contacts present themselves to you as virtual relatives Well it makes sense to me lol

Merry Thankyou,the finishing touch needed for the programme. You know the idea,a shot of you on the sunlounger with a canvas backdrop of the Utah holdiay destination in the background,perfect! Channel hop to see if the contestant will keep the box or accept the 10,000 names the banker has offered. Send the kiddies to bed with a bedtime story of Derek death index and Edward the Enumerator,not forgetting Reggie the Registrar ,making a guest appearance. Stare lovingly at your 'I cracked the LDS Maze' paperweight whilst waiting for Derek Anorach to contact your rellies in 'Most Hunted'. I think i should see about some real bling tinsel now innit! Glen
