Ah! Oooh! Oh! Golly gosh! etc. Ok, bear with me. Just going through my Brownings. I think Thomas is a sibling of my gt gt grandmother Susannah. So I am looking at another sibling Robert and guess what - Robert and Sarah's address in 1841 is Blucher Row - which is Thomas Bruinwhatever and Anty Trundlers in 1841!!!! nell

I noticed on CamDex that Savil(le) seems to be a Trundley/r first name. It crops up more than once as I recall. Christine PS - I don't think I dropped any crumbs in the keyboard... on the floor, maybe, but not in the keyboard!

Here's the 1847 birth from the Cambridge BMD site... Surname: TRUNDLEY Forename: William Middle Initial: B Year of Birth: 1847 Reference: 331/SMG/3/91/1 District: Cambridge I'd guess that ''SMG'' means ''St Mary the Great'', just as ''SAL'' probably means ''St Andrew the Less''. Haven't looked to see how close the two parishes are in Cambridge. Don't know what to make of this, but it looks as if it's next (i.e. consecutive) record: Surname: BROWNING Forename: William Middle Initial: Year of Birth: 1847 Reference: 331/SMG/3/91/2 District: Cambridge There's also this one: Surname: BROWNING Forename: William Middle Initial: F Year of Birth: 1847 Reference: 331/SAL 08/474 District: Cambridge Christine

This may be why you can't find William in the 1851. It might be a mismatch of records, but if they'd dropped the ''Trundley/r'' bit... Surname: BROWNING Forename: William Middle Initial: Year of Death: 1849 Age: 2 Reference: 331/SAL/6/457 District: Cambridge So, since Cambridge gives ages at death even this early, you can see he would have been born about 1847. And his death was registered in the ''SAL'' area of Cambridge. Or he could be that next child - if it isn't the same one. Christine

Just been looking around the CFHS (Cambridgeshire FHS Searchable Databases) they now have 1861 by the way, saw Antonettes birth, daughter of Henry and Eliza, which you do have, not sure if there is anything else there that might help...

(just out of interest, I found that Blucher Row was named after Gebhard Von Blucher, who together with Wellington, defeated Napoleon at Waterloo, aah!, that's why I saw Wellington Row just down the road on that census!) :))

I thought it must be that Blucher. Didn't he ride in, at the last minute, leading the Prussians to turn the day? (Depending on which version you read!) Christine

Yes, there's only one Richard Sharpe!, lovely man! :)) Back to Browning again, on the 1851 Strays index, (CHFS) there is an Edward, in Thetford, age 15, born Chesterton 1836... not sure if he is related somwhere!. Chris :)

Street names tend to run with current events. Luton has a cluster of streets named after Crimea locations and generals (Inkerman, Cardigan, Alma) and another clutch relating to the Marquis of Bute who built Luton Hoo. J
