I have found John jr in1941 birth, he was born in 1839, so age would be about right for him. In 1851 can you tell me what Emp 1 Man stands for, see below. John Parrs. Head Mar. 31. Master Tailor. *** F.A.O. ***…….. Elaine. The where abouts of the Marriage of Florence Kate 1891 ? Ummm ? Nothing showed up using my resources to hand. But thinking aloud here……. I see they are newly wed on the 1891.Census. Your Free BMD Ref = March Qrt. 1891. My G.R.O. BMD = Jan. Feb. Mar. Qrt 1891. Both do have the same Ref No. 7a 337. though. Therefore Common denominator is MARCH. then.? The address on that Census return puts them in the Fast growing St. Matthews Estate. Churches within that Estate..... Were St. Matthew’s, St. Luke’s, Christ Church. ( All theses were part of St. Margaret’s Parish Hence Bishop Fees was in the title on the Censuses . ) and the Nonconformist St. George's Chapel. So maybe Thomas & Florence married in one of these? I can but have a look at these for you next time I’m at Records Office. ( Thursday ) Or they could have had a Civil Service Marriage ? in which case No records will be available at the Records Office. Yes……. Pass the other details for that Marriage conducted under Licence. (A year would be very helpful. ). I might be able find them using the Licence Index Cards…… That will at lest give us the Church. Then I could find the Registers for that Church. If that’s what you were looking for.. MIKE. xx *** F.A.O. ***……… Jon O’ Kent. Well Done Mate ….. All ways use the Web site & NOT the “ Update pop up box “ whilst viewing files….. It always seems to miss a file this way....... MIKE.....( NO..... I'm not in charge ....:0 ( )

Hi Mike Was wondering if you could have a look at a marriage licence unless it is too long winded, will post details if you tell me it's alright. Also, have a Florence Kate Neal Wright who is illegitimate but all census returns have her down as Florence Kate Moore, dau of Thomas and Mary Elizabeth. I have found her marriage to Henry Arthur Williamson on Freebmd Marriages Mar 1891 Williamson Henry Arthur Leicester 7a 337 Wright Florence Kate Leicester 7a 337 I wondered if they appeared on any of your discs as they did not marry at St Margs, 1891 census has them living at 29 Upper Brunswick Street with her sister Edith Moore. Thanks Elaine

Barbra Report 21 Aug 2006 09:08

mike Many thanks for your time and trouble, and please accept my apologies for not coming back to you sooner. The Dixon family, marriages and burials all tie in with what I'd already found and/or been given by another descendant. The first William Dixon born at Halam is news to me though. Ann Parnham (nee Dixon) is my direct line Ancestor. The main thing we were trying to find was a place of birth for William Dixon. Thank you again for all your time and trouble. And please also thank your informant from the other site for his(her?) efforts. Its at least given me a bit more to go on. Barbara PS there are at least 3 of us on this site who will benefit when one of us finally ties William down!

*** F.A.O.***...... Barbra Dodds.. Greeting's Again Barbra...... Here below are the messages passed onto me from my colleague from the other site using your details posted on here :- OK I'm going to play devil's advocate here...... I've found the missus (Monney/Monny Ann) and children in Halam. Nottinghamshire in 1841 and 1851 ... all born Redmile according to the 1851. Do you think that Barbara realises that o.t.p.( Of this Parish) on marriage doesn't necessarily mean they were born in that parish? He could have been living and working in Belvoir. Don't seem to be many Dixon’s around the Belvoir/Woolsthorpe area - but there are a lot from Halam, including a William 1775. Close enough to be a possible? I'm wondering if the move to Halam (assuming I have the right family) was a return to his roots ..... Christening found :- William Dixon. 12th. Feb. 1775. Halam. Father Richard.
