I am trying to find any information on family named Savage of Sutton Bonnington, Bunny, East Leake and surrounding. Rev. John Savage and his son Thomas, both of whom were Rectors at Sutton Bonington. John was born about 1557, and Thomas in 1595.

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 11 Sep 2006 19:42

Greeting’s & Welcome Carol.. I’m sorry but all those Villages come under Nottinghamshire Although Sutton Bonington is one of those which are on the boarder of either Leicestershire or Nottinghamshire I did have a look at what I could but on line info started 1785……. You will have to look at the Parish Registers for those early years 1500’s If you can get to a LDS Centre you’ll be able to order Fiches to cover the years And then look at them ( There will be a charge for this and they hold the fiches for 28 days for you ) Or Elaine might just be able help ? thanks Mike - the first one is definately them! The second one I think is his cousin, because I know he married Ann Wilson (that was her maiden name) because of various wills and used as middle names. Maybe they married somewhere else - these things were sent to try us. Once again, many thanks! (is it through the Leicestershire FHS that I can buy the disks? and do you know how much they are - I hate to keep pestering you - sorry!)
