Lancashire folk followed this tradition too, but beware the odd rich relative/godparent/esteemed employer slipping in there! Naming patterns are a useful clue, not a strict recipe. OC |

Have found a couple (late 18th centary, Suffolk) with 4 children but now looking for their parents. Have found likely couples but can't be sure. (all from IGI - extracted) I have: Head:- Kingsby Huntley Wife:- Elizabeth Boyce Children:- 1) Kingsby Huntley 2) Edmund Boyce Huntley 3) Thomas Huntley 4) Pheobe Huntley I think the couples Parents are Thomas and Elizabeth. AND Edmund and Pheobe Boyce. If I've got this right I have 1st Son - Father 2nd Son - Mother's Father 3rd Son - Father's Father 1st Dau - Mother's Mother Is this possable or likely?? |
