Thanks Mike!! John Tho Butler in Syston in 1841 rings bells, think that was how I got to Henry and Elizabeth being parents for John by going up from a known cousin born around 1890!! John Tho being in the same household as Thomas Henry was the thing that clinched the link. Thought I had the Syston 1841 file saved somewhere but it currently escapes me. Looking at John Tho's mother (Jane) again in 1841 (widowed and remarried to Thomas Snaith but still living at 56 Belgrave Gate) it now strikes me that the reason John Tho was in Syston may be because he has a new step brother James aged 3 weeks so thanks for that prompt!! John Tho Butler (son of my John) from Leicester eventually met and married a girl from Exeter, just as my Daddy (also from Leicester) did about 100 years later!! Spooky or what??!! Bus pass and bifocals eh?? When do you get the hearing aid and walking stick????? Better come and pick your brains at the record office before you lose all your faculties!! Seem to remember seeing in one of the books I had fleeting access to last time I was there that Thomas Edward the Chemist was made a Freeman of the City c. 1844 so have this (maybe faint) hope that his ancestors might be better documented than my lesser known John who died in 1834 aged 34!! Happy Big Birthday!! Maggie XX |

**** F.A.O. **** ….Sarah In order to give you the right details We have to rely on sites which we contribute to But if these sites are not available due to ' under maintenance '. Then we have to wait until they come back on line…… Having looked at the Census returns that Beverly has mentioned I strongly believe Elizabeth had died by 1841. ...... The Mary with Richard on the 1841 Census return I would believe to be his second wife.. . . . Both Mary & Richard die shortly after the 1841 Census See list below:~ Barsby Burials for OADBY :~ Names / Dates / Age. BARSBY * ELIZABETH * 29 Mar 1825 37 BARSBY Elizabeth 29 Nov 1833 20 BARSBY Thomas 28 May 1837 Inf BARSBY * RICHARD * 14 Mar 1842 52 BARSBY * MARY * 21 Apr 1845 45 BARSBY William 29 Dec 1845 29 BARSBY John 25 Jun 1866 7 BARSBY Sarah 15 Sep 1870 2wks BARSBY Harriet 14 Aug 1871 39 BARSBY John 28 Aug 1871 2wks BARSBY Henry 14 Aug 1883 53 BARSBY Thomas 10 May 1884 31 BARSBY Albert 17 Nov 1884 3mths BARSBY John William 26 Apr 1886 8mths BARSBY Thomas Henry 13 Sep 1891 1mth There was over forty Burials for the Surname of LUDLAM in Oadby Parish Registers. If you require them then I’ll post the details…… MIKE. |
