Hello Sarah I read your last message and wondered if you were near a Mormon church, don't know if you know but you can order in a parish record such as Hungerton and have a look. I looked through the Newark records looking for a burial and found all sorts connected to the family and then double checked parents by going to the baptism register, it helped no end. Thought it might be useful for you. I have still yet to do this myself as I am not in Leicester and have exhausted my leads for Nottingham. Hope this helps Elaine |

Sarah Have had a look with the dates you have given and am getting nowhere. It's also difficult 1841 as the ages were rounded up or down. If you are looking into going to the LDS centre, they have access to ancestry and some libraries are now giving free access. Don't want to send you off on the wrong trail as taking off the exact search brings up too many Barsby from all over the country, Sorry couldn't help more Elaine |

Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to ask for help but here goes. I am trying to find out about my Gt Gt Gt grandmother's parents. Her name was Ellen Deacon, born about 1817/1818 in Ibstock or N Swepstone depending on which census you look at. She married George Reay from Walsall, Staffordshire. I can't find any record of their marriage on BMD - have searched full index from 1837 to 1848 (their first child was born abt 1846) - so maybe they married before BMD began. Hope someone can help, thanks in anticipation, Clare |

Greeting's & Welcome......... Clare. Baptism found :~ ( via two different disks ) ELLENOR DEACON. 13th. July. 1817. St. Peter's Parish Church. SWEPSTONE. Mother :~ Mary Deacon. No Father's name given. So we could be looking at a Baseborn child. If you wish I can have a look for this this coming week at the records Office and see the Parish Registers which would give better information ? I've got to go out to Church so will try and find the marriage on return MIKE. |
