Hi Portland Rose. Sorry not to reply earlier but I have been away from home. I was looking under Edwards mistakenly. Re your previous notes on the marriage. Jun 1909 EDWARDS Arthur Cardiff 11a 711 GIBBON Rose Cardiff 11a 711 I can find Arthur, however I cannot find the same for Rose. I can see a Rose Gibbon but the registration occured in Mansfield or Lincoln rather than Cardiff. Can you please advise where you got this ref from.

Hi Rose, the two records I found were: 1907 Rose Edwards dist. 11a, 657, page 110 1909 Rose Edwards dist. 11a, 666 page 106(perhaps) sketchy notes i'm afraid, as these were collected some time ago.

Now that you have been given the marriage details, you need to obain the cert. It will cost £7.00 if you order it online from www.gro.gov.uk Make sure you you tick the box which asks 'are GRO refs known'? Once you have the cert, you can start an informed search on 1901 census. Reg

Reg. Hi - its obvisouly late...hence my mistake. The data you supplied is correct. it was 1999 he died. And yes his mother was Gibbon. You also have the birth correct.

My granda died in 1991, September in Cardiff.

Hi Reg & Sam. Sorry for not adding reply but i've not use the chat boards before. From your replies to date, I believe that if I get my grandfathers marriage certificate (Reginald), I can then trace back to his parents (Arthur). I will work on getting the MC for my grandfather. Unfortunately I have limited info and my grandfather is dead.
