I have a Charles Newton in Ropsley Lincolnshire. I am hoping he is the brother of my husband's ancestor John Newton. Charles Austin Newton was born in Ropsley in c. 1828 (have his death certificate and census entries). When John Newton married, his father was given as John, a farmer. I am trying to check that this is the correct family. HO107/621/15 Grantham Colsterworth Folio 10 page 14 The father has been transcribed as Isaac. There is an Ann, age 25, and Charles 13. Do you think the entry reads Isaac or Jno (John)? I'd appreciate your opinions. |
