Greeting’s Sarah …….. Sorry……… But Both births happened in-between censuses… Then there is nothing I can find out about them. Even gazing into my crystal ball. ……. The best thing to do is order those certificates ( Which I have already given you the ref No’s for ) These will give you some more details which will Prove for sure if they are the ones you are searching for. MIKE. |

Greeting’s & Welcome…………. Paul. I think your on the right lines with the William Fox of 15,Gayton Avenue. Which is off Turner Street and at the bottom of Turner Street On Martin Street was “ Bunny Richards Iron Smelting Works “ And the area was dotted with Engineering Sheet Metal Factories. Which matches up with his Occupation you stated. That Death certificate would certainly prove it’s the William you are searching for. In the meantime I can see if I can find them on the Electoral Rolls held at the Records Office next week. Can you give me a name for the Grand mother ? as by 1933 ~ 36 she would be able to vote and should appear on the Rolls. MIKE. |

Hi Mike Yes I had a quick peek at it this morning before I came to work, but I am going to print it off when I get home and take a proper look. Thank you so much for that. I told my boyfriend (who is Canadian) about it, and he is just amazed you can get stuff that old!!! Anything over 100 years old here is considered pre-historic!!!! Well hopefully we (...or rather you!) might have more luck with Mr. Whitehead with that info? I really want to trace back further...just takes some patience I suppose!!!! Thanks again for your help, Gemma. |

Hi Mike Thank you so much for sorting out the James Fox confusion!!! That is fantastic. As for George Whitehead...he is proving to be a tricky little bugger!!!! I really appreciate all the effort you have put in so far. I have been googleing the Whitehead surname, and have found that it was often mistaken for Whitchead...not sure if this helps at all??? I really am beginning to think that he was not born in Leicestershire at all!!!!! I did find something interesting on the 1871 census though. I found a George Whitchead (b. 1824, Loughborough) living in Nottingham with his parents,George Whitchead (b. 1804 Church Aston, Yorkshire) and Ann Whitchead (b.1796 East Leake, Nottingham). But on the same census I also found George Whitehead (b.1824, Loughborough) living with his wife Elizabeth in Nottingham!!!!! I am at a total loss!!!! This man is determined to confuse us!!!! |

Mike Saw your note about ordering non-conformist records. Looks like my Bentleys and Kirks (Sheepshed) were non-conformist which is why I am having difficulty working farther back. I have a bunch of disconnected events but cannot connect them. Do you think this is something those record might help with? |

Hi Sarah Like Mike said on page 6 it might prove hard to track down Johns death if he was living in Northants on 1891 Census. He could have died in Northants,Leicester or who knows where. Bev |
