Hi Mike Many thanks for your efforts on my behalf. Shame they didn't come to anything. You've got me thinking now. I know they lived in Bruin Street when they were first married because a number of the houses there were owned by Emma's grandfather, Samuel Bradbury. They moved to Woodville Road when those houses were built, and then to Culver Road in the 30s, but God only knows where they would have lived between say 1918 and Woodville Road being built. Thanks anyway. Looks as if I'm as far away as ever from tracking down Grandad's war service. File under L for loose ends. Cheers Sheila |

Re Army Records: when you write to Glasgow, they send forms back to fill in (of course the would!). If you are not the spouse of the service person, a search will cost £30. Am plucking up the courage to splash out this to me rather large sum of money to find out about my father's service. Jan |

Greeting’s again Sheila Have you explored this site ? :~ http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/default.asp click on links to WW1 Campaign medals ( on the right ) type in Edwin’s names search years = 1915 ~ 1920. Several possibilities Including:~ Phillips Edwin. Private Leicester Reg. No. 6494. Phillips Edwin. Private Leicester Reg. No. 2371. No actual details of Medals given on line you have to order the fiches. Yes you stated he enlisted with Cameroonians ( Scottish Rifles ) But then this Reg. disbanded. So he could be with any Reg. Hi Mike Just a clarification on that 1814 head count (I have never come across this type of record before) - Does that mean there were 2 seperate William Harrison families living in Thurmaston at that time? |

MIke - thank you so much for that! Welll yes - there are a few more little things -- would you mind tracing the entire Harrison family back to Adam & Eve for me? - only if you have the time , and it's not too much trouble - lol Regards Michael (but for an accident of birth- the 10th Earl of Ashburnham!_) |

' You Rang M’ Lord ….? ' I’ve had the serfs working all day on this for you But they are having a problem De-ciphering the hieroglyphs on the tablets. But basically. ……… I think we’re on a sticky wicket here….. If God created Man ( Adam Son of God. ) Then Woman ( Eve Daughter of God. ) So… any off spring of this union……..would this be legal. ? Hence I fear we fall at the 1st fence...... “ These are deep waters M’ Lord. …….“ Besides I do not believe God had a broken down Codger ? was this the ' Harrison' ... of ' Brush Fame ' the ones that do not go bald ? we're tracting down I remain our “ Humble Servant.” MIKE. Exits right backwards. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> |

**** F.A.O. **** Sarah. Baptisms :~ John CLARK. 28th. December. 1758. Belgrave. Father :~ William. Mother :~ Marey. ( this is not a typo mistake on my behalf ) Thomas CLARK. 11th May 1788. Narborough. Father :~ Jno. CLARK. Mother :~ Elizabeth. I’m afraid it’s going to be very difficult to prove this is the same John Baptised in Belgrave with out detailed documentations of the family events Which was not in operation in these early years……… MIKE. |
