Hello Peter. I have been given your name from Kathleen on the Long Lost Friends of Sunderland who feels that you may be able to help me.

I am seeking relatives of Felix Ward born 1854 ish. However there is also a Felix Ward born around 1883. The People I am looking for would have all been born round the Seaham-Sunderland area of the North East. Thanks if you can help me. (mike)

Do you have any reason to think Peter Berry is a paying member of this site?

Have you considered looking for info yourself using the various free sites which are available?

The GRO site is particularly useful, as it gives MMN for births pre-1911. Try it.

Welcome to Genes and the boards.

Who is Peter Barry? As Erika says, why do you think he is any sort of member and then why do you think he would spot your post.

If you look at Search/ search all members trees you will find that one person has Felix on their tree ( birth date 1855). You can send that person a pm - Genes will notify them of the message as long as they are still a member and have kept their contact details up to date.

Genes do not notify of posts added to threads.

Added: if you put Ward & Seaham into search all members trees you will find some entries by a Peter Berry.

Thank you for your reply and follow up.

I am not looking for details of the family tree. I have made a tree of around 700 people. What I am seeking is a member of the Ward family who is willing to allow me to contact them to discuss the family. (Example question-- In the forties did any family member work in London for a while?) I belong to a Sunderland Facebook group and Kathleen on there told me to contact a Peter Berry on Genes Reunited. That is the reason for my message. Let me say thank you for helping me. (mike)

The ONLY way to try to contact the man BERRY would be to find him under 'search all member trees'

BUT..........he isn't on GR with Felix Ward in his tree, so that's a dead end.

HOWEVER, as previously indicated, Felix IS in another tree, so try to contact that person.

To find other LIVING relatives of Ward you'll have to research thoroughly working forwards................

Also, read carefully the post by namelessone on 1st August

I think it’s unrealistic to expect any response from the man Berry as a result of this thread. Hardly anyone uses the message boards…………….you really do need to be pro-active.

EDITED

I’ve had a very quick look at the Wards in Peter Berry’s tree on here, and at first glance, they are connected to the Felix Ward born in the 1880’s, so not relevant to your enquiry.

You need to check with the woman on Facebook to find out why she thinks this man can actually help you
