Please would some kind person with access to Ancestry have a look on the 1931 census for OH's great uncle Arthur.
We didn't know he existed until OH inherited a lot of stuff and by then everybody who could help had died!
He was born in 1885 in Kirbymoorside, Yorkshire and grew up in Burnley. He joined the Coldstream Guards, married in 1911, fought at The Somme and lived with his sister (OH's grandmother) after the war. He obviously didn't get on with his wife because in 1925 he was charged with failing to maintain her and did a month in prison. As soon as he got out he went to Canada, landing at Halifax, Nova Scotia in August 1925.
After that we have lost track of him until his death in 1939 at Regina, Saskatchewan. We have a photo of his grave, and hope that the census details will tell us what he was doing, whether he married (bigamously?) again and possibly had children.
I realise he could be anywhere in Canada, but hope that someone might strike lucky.
Thank you very much.

Thank you all very much. OH has got him arriving on the Pittsburgh in Halifax, but it looks as though it needs a bit more investigation. From Alviegals copy of the Burnley News, which we have, it looks as though OH has got the date wrong on his records!! :-(
I shall tell him tomorrow - it's nearly bedtime now.

OH has now corrected his typo and the correct date of arrival in Halifax is 1923. He says he's sorry for misleading you.
Although no-one has found Arthur Robinson on the Canadian census, we now have a copy of the 1921 UK census, with him living in Burnley with his wife. Thank you Alviegal.
Thanks again to everyone who tried to find him. :-)

You're most welcome Andysmum and there's no need for any apology from OH, easy mistake to make :-D
