Family Search has a lot of records from the US. It's free, and as long as you keep to the RECORDS section, very good. The public-provided information can be very iffy, to say the least! |

If you're trying to make contact with someone living in America at the moment, just Google "find someone in USA", and several websites will be shown - with some you have to register, or pay to see records. |
