One other thing is that his mother was still using her married name, Ward, when Richard died. Thx

Yes his mother’s name was Joan E Obee, although when she married my father her name was listed as Obee or Crane.

Richard was born in Los Angeles.

I’ve tried multiple sites for his grave, no luck.

How do I get his death certificate?

Thanks so much for the help! :-D

He doesn’t show on either of the grave sites so you need his death cert for its info

Another very good website is

https://www.findagrave.com

which has the advantage of being international, if you aren't sure where a person died.

Although the registration district is Wandsworth he could have died in one of the areas that the district covered .so you need his death cert for its info

Thank you so much for the information!

I will look at Deceased online, and for a website/email for the Cemetery. I live in California so I don't get your messages until it's early morning for you.

Thanks again for the pointers :-D

Have you tried Deceased online

Plus get his death certificate and then contact the parks and cemeteries dept of the local council giving them the details from the certificate

Councils keep very good records and should be able to give you details

Hello all,

I am trying to locate my brother's grave.

Richard Peter Ward was born on the 1st of November, 1956 and died in January 1970, in Wandsworth. I have found letters from his mother to our shared father however I cannot seem to find anything saying where he is buried. I do know that he was buried as there are photos and a discussion of the type of headstone.

Any suggestions as to how to search? Are there any good websites for UK graves?

Thank you,

Kathleen in California
