That's true but the Chasteauneuf family seem to have been quite established in Woolwich so it may have brought some money into the family. I can't find a second marriage for Theresa or indeed any marriage at all for Elizabeth. Winifred May's birth was registered in September qtr of 1898. I wonder if Elizabeth had entered the Workhouse in July 1898 because she was pregnant. |

Her stay in the infirmary would fit this birth, which I think has been posted before: |

Wow that's not great. Is there any mention of her youngest sister Theresa Ann (born Woolwich 1878) or her mother Margaret Burnside (born Ireland 1840) |

Elizabeth Burnside was certainly born in 1873 when John was stationed just outside Dublin but this is strange. I wonder if she worked for the army is some capacity. We do know she was employed as an hospital ironer alongside her sister Theresa during the 1901 census. I wonder if the army employed her as a nurse or auxillary. |

Lucy Flannery was certainly born c1805 if we are to accept the 1871 census. After that she disappears.. |

Thanks for info off ancestry. The witnesses are interesting. I wonder who W.Burnside is? Could he have a brother in the army perhaps? . I don't know of any link with a Murray. |
