Ps. I have often wondered if he may have stowed away, like you say, he would have had the opportunity, I would have thought working at the docks. Thanks for your efforts Chris. |

Thank you Chris, well that solves one little mystery, Amy was visiting/staying with her sister when she gave birth to my grandfather. I wonder if my great grandfather was there too, or if he had already gone, being as Amy was previously living with her father in law. A mystery man. Shirley |

Thank you everyone for your efforts. The address on my grandfather's birth certificate is interesting, they were living in a public house, The Blue Ball, Asheridge, Charteridge, which is quite rural and my great grandfather's occupation was commercial clerk. I have often wondered what they were doing living there, and why was my great grandmother living with her father in law on the 1901 census? I guess I will never know. Wish I could go back in time ?? |

I couldn't find a death in 1908, at least not in England and Wales, but nor have I been able to find his name on an outbound passenger list from the UK or on the Ellis Island site. |

A Public Family Tree states that Robert died in 1908, without any proof ....... seemingly based on the year of Amy's marriage. |
