John and Mary married on 1 March 1848, and had children - all in Templemore - Mary - 1850, Elizabeth - 1851, Ellen - 1852, Michael - 1854, Agnes Mary - 1859 and John (Jr) - 1861. Family migrated to London in 1860s and most siblings were involved as shop assistants. I have found most of the England records, but not much in the Ireland records, albeit there is a John Bergin in Polygon Lane - Griffiths Valuation. I also have some baptism records for some of the children (rescued from pretty dreadful handwriting in church records).
At wits' end - can anybody HELP????

Karate are you sure of Mary's surname? On the images I am looking at and transcription, for Ellen and Elizabeth, it is very clearly Kennally, I would say Michael was the same, though it is less clear

There are quite few references to a John Bergin shopkeeper of Templemore in the Tipperary Petty Sessions Court Registers between 1853- 1869.
Freeman's Journal - Friday 20 June 1851 FIRING AT AND WOUNDING A Boy.-On the night of the 10th inst., a boy named Connors having failed to enter the premises of Mr. John Bergin, shopkeeper, Templemore, he attempted to scale the wall of the yard, with intent to rob, when he was observed by the owner, who fired at and severely wounded him with small shot, causing a fracture of the skull and other injuries. Connors on receiving the injurey absconded, and was not heard of for -a f~e~w days until he applied for medical relief. The case having been investigated, informations were returned to the quarter sessions of Nenagh against Mr. Bergin.-
