Thank you all for input to William Percy Harding and Mabel B Porter l did have their names correct but wrong date of Births. l am now trying to digest all the information given once again Thank you Virginia

Virginia, have you actually seen the birth certificate for Alfred Louis Harding (AKA Frederick Louis Harding) confirming that his parents are William P and Mabel B ) or have you just found this marriage in 1916:

and assumed that this was Alfred's parents marrying 2 years after his birth?

If this is the case it looks like you have picked up the wrong parents for him.

There are these two trees on ancestry and both have Alfred Louis Harding with parents Frederick and Ethel Harding (nee Porter) as his parents.

If you look at the info provided you will see that Frederick and Ethel both came from the reg district of North Witchford Cambridge and that Ethel was living in Chatteris in 1901. Alfred Louis Harding married Irene Plumb in 1938 and in 1939 was living with Irene in Chatteris. You say that Alfred (AKA Frederick) was given to some relation in Chatteris when he was 2 years old and that some people say that his parents died. Ethel and Frederick both died in 1915 in Lambeth. Alfred was born in Lambeth in 1914. This information fits with Ethel and Frederick being the parents of Alfred Louis Harding..

William and Mabel have no connection whatsoever to Alfred Louis

Thank you for information on Ethel and Frederick Harding Alfred Louis Harding lived with a William and Florence Harlow they had 2 children Annie Ethel Harlow born 1903 and Elsie May 1907 l do believe they lived in Chatteris Cambs Alfred always called her his Mother .Thanking you PS l do wonder why they both died so young Thanking you Virginia

Census info posted earlier shows that the Harlows were Alfred's aunt & uncle.
