You can see that Greyghost has posted John James' birth, that can be found on the GRO birth index

JAMES, JOHN HAINES Order
GRO Reference: 1872 S Quarter in HENDON Volume 03A Page 127

So you can see from that mother's maiden name is Haines sometimes spelled Haine
so you can then look at marriages in those names and match them to details from the births and the census as Greyghost did to find the marriage he posted

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Marriages Jun 1869 (>99%)
Austin John Kensington 1a 259
BOND Mary Kensington 1a 259
HAINE Annie Kensington 1a 259 <<<<<<<<<
James George Alexander Kensington 1a 259 <<<<<<<<<<

Banns show Bachelor and spinster, both of Willing's Place.
Banns read 14/21/28 March 1869 St Mary's, Paddington Green.

Married 25th April -St Mary's, Paddington
Both of full age.
George a Carman. Father John James a Tailor and
Annie's Father James Haine a Servant

London marriage cert images for that period can be seen on Ancestry website, which is useful for those with London ancestors :-)

Serena John Austin and Mary Bond are not connected to you, they just happen to have married and be listed on that same page ( if you look at freebmd you will usually find 2 or 3 couples married at the same place same time, that is the case here).

"Banns" are the reading out in the church of the intention to marry, " Banns are a legal requirement for Church of England weddings. Your intention to marry is announced by your minister on three Sundays in the three months before the wedding. They must be read in your parish church, as well as in the church where the ceremony is to take place."

Omg I have just seen yr post on page 2 about him. Awww poor thing having all that wrong . Where did u find all this out hun. Gosh so so much info. Never knew we could find out so much about someone so many years ago.
I had him down as getting married in 1885. But would make sense if 95. I can't believe what u have all found out. I am so great full. Xxxxxx

Hi grey ghost. Thank u so much for so much info. I really don't quite understand it. Would it be the same John James.
As my one was married to martha hanton in 1885 !!!!
He would have been quite old in the army if say he married at 20 years old. That'd be 50 years .....
It is possible if he was high up.
I don't get the other names. Who are they.

Also on BMD I can't find a marriage for either or find their children on there.
Sorry to sound think. I'll be OK once I get the hang of it. Xxx
