Just for confirmation Margaret & Thomas Edwards are at no 27 :-)

ArgyllGran Report 20 Aug 2017 22:24

Phew !!

Then maybe that's the correct Doris.
If not, the Desmond and Edwards names would be a huge coincidence.

Can someone have a look and see what the house number is for Margaret (1876) and Thomas (1868) Edwards, in Smith Drive, Bootle in 1939, please?

I'm hoping they're not at number 1 !

I can't see her going from Canada to UK before that, with any of the possible name permutations.

ArgyllGran Report 20 Aug 2017 21:49

Here's the above Doris's arrival in Canada.

NOK: Mother, Mrs EDWARDS, 1 Smith Drive, Bootle. <<<<<<<< (coincidence ??)
Destination: Canadian Women's Hostel, Halifax.

She's single.

I've had a look on Anc' incoming passenger lists (without a subscription) for Minnie and surname blank but not showing any of the likely names, perhaps take a look there though and widen the search ?
