Did he marry a Frances Coppins or Saywell or A N other
Looks like he had 5 or 6 children with a 'Frances', Julia, Stephen, Alfred, Athur and Edwin.

James was single in 1851 census, not sure about Frances, buying the marriage cert should give you her father's name to look for her on 1851. As there is another Frances Saywell in the general area.

That makes sence.

1861 shows James married to Frances with children Sarah Ann, Julia and Stephen, but he didnt marry Frances Saywell untill 1863!
So either they were just living together in 1861 or James married Frances Coppins in 1851.
I need James' marriage cert.

Safc posted the marriage for Frances Coppins in 1851- she didn't marry James Coppins, she married George Medhurst- so not your Frances.
