I go to the local library and can have access to .Ancestry and all the census records plus other websites for free but you have to be a member of the library (Lancashire) library membership costs nothing

Can you visit a library? Most have access to Ancestry. If you contacted a subscriber via their membership, remember to tell the member your email address

Have a google for Ancestry 14 day free trial and then play with the pages.

The one I've found looks as though the offer is to a 14 day trial to the Premium membership at £13.99 for a month and £69.99 for 6 months (should you forget to cancel before the free period ends). By comparing the different memberships which it allows you to do on the page, it would appear that Premium membership allows you to
"Build your family tree and connect with other members, Search UK census, bmd records, Go back to the 1500's with Parish records and explore comprehensive military, immigration and Irish records"

It does say you'll be charged the full amount of your chosen membership price on expiry of the free trial, unless you cancel etc. and I wouldn't be surprised if that was a years worth not 6 months, but don't quote me on that) and not sure what "connect" with other members would actually allow.

If it's free trial, then no harm in going for it and then you'll find out what you can access, just cancel in time.

Please can anyone tell me, if I do a free 14 day trial on Ancestry, would I be able to access Public Trees, or would I have to take out a subscription?
