It's not too much of a problem for your particular tree, as the link is only one or two generations back, but for such a marriage further back in someone's tree, there's then the question of which branch to add children of the marriage to, and later descendants - or whether to add them to both branches, and duplicate the entries from then onwards.

If you haven't already linked them, when you go to add a spouse you can choose 'Find Existing' then select the person.

You'll only need to add the marriage details once. The system may add a (2) after their name to indicate a duplicate- it depends which branch you're looking at.

I don't think you can on the GenesReunited tree but perhaps it would be best to email Genes and ask them although you won't get a reply on a weekend:-

Could I ask,,, On my father's Ward branch of our tree his brother marr (1st which we have entered on our tree) his 2nd marr was to the sister of my Grd father Harris, (my mothers branch) sister her 2nd marr, we have details of her 1st marr entered on her branch,,,, How do you link the two branch's via their marr without entering the details on each branch, therefore having double entries for them on both branch's,,,, hope this makes sense,
Regards
Helen
