http://www.freereg.org.uk/ has some 1899 marrs for Leics -I don't know how widespread the indexes are, but it's worth a try. |

James's birth registered in 1877, Nottingham (agrees to 1901 census transcribed as Litherland) gives mmn of Lineker - this is the only Leatherland/Lineker marriage I can see: |

If James's birth was registered, have you looked on the new style GRO? That normally tells you the mmn. |

I have and that's how I found James has leatherland mother's mm as linker |
