Apparently there is a newspaper article about a 10 year old Edith Roberts

She was in a case of abuse and neglect by step mother 1917
If this was in Liverpool or her birth is recorded as in the region
I feel she could be the same child who was handed over in the same scandal case in 1907 ....Australian paper reported mother in tears in court and
At time landlady observed genuine sadness grief at giving up baby
The years don't tally for age of mother lottie but stories are so similar
And there is a lottie actress who could fill intervening years ....down as Pearcy on 190@ census
