Wow ! How fast was that ? Thank you so much. Can I ask if there's any way of finding which quarter of the year that he died as I'm almost sure that he is living with a woman in Wales in the first quarter of 1891 and any idea where I would send to for a copy of his death certificate. Thank |

I accidently came across a web site called Family relatives.com which allows you to search but you must subscribe to get full access to the information. I saw under the title of Marine Deaths a possible death for a great grandfather who seems to disappear after the 1891 census and is definitely deceased by 1898 when his widow remarries. The information available is John Medcalf aged 46 and born 1845 and it is a Marine Death. So I take it that this person died in 1891. The man I'm looking for would actually have been 48 or 49 but maybe the informant was mistaken. Does anyone know where I could access the information for less than the £14.95 that the site is asking for a months subscription. I already have subs to Ancestry. Thanks for taking the time to read this. |
