Nellie...Have you tried to locate Charles Morrison's Birth in Scotland...according to the 1911 Census he states his place of birth as Scotland (see my post 17 July 1916 on this thread.)
I don't know what other info.it will give that you don't already have relating to James Morrison and Mary McManus but may clarify the question of whether James was in the Army....(none of the other Births show this to be the case)
You could also look to find Charles' Military records (1901 Census he was in RDFus. Victoria Barracks Henry St Belfast)

Just to clarify for the benefit of other researchers, Scotish marriage certificates do name both parents including the mother's maiden surname but it is Scottish birth registrations that give the date and place of the parents marriage.

Nellie, Irish death certificates don't give as much information as Scottish ones either. I bought a copy of my Great Grandmother's death certificate and it didn't name her husband. It just said she was the widow of an Iron Moulder. It didn't name her parents but fortunately I knew roughly when she died, where she died and it was an unusual surname.

Thank you Erin I thought the MC was a shorter version of a full one .. as i am Scottish and on our MC,s it gives both parents with the year and place where they wed , I thought it might be the same in Ireland , Do you think if I got the name and address of the church where James and m Mary got wed that they would let me have the information on them many thanks Nellie

Eringobragh1916 Report 26 Apr 2017 16:00

Nellie ...What is written on the MC is exactly what the MC says...that is the copy of the Civil Cert.

You also have on this thread the marriage of James Morrison and Mary McManus....

What can we help with to move forward...?
