on 1911 census switzerland is crossed out

I have just checked the marriage certificate for Delphine Georgina Stark and Arthur Eade both batchelor and spinster at the time of marriage. I was thinking maybe Delphine had married twice and William John Eade was her first husband, She has Swiss parents so thought could have married abroad but have eliminated this theory.

Delphine was discharged from the Workhouse on 18th May, to the Bexley Mental Hospital.

Arthur is on the Absent Voters list for 1918. He is the only man on the page who doesn't have his Regt and Regt No shown - just his address, 19 Halifax St.

I cannot find Delphine Stark before the 1900 marriage, Do you have her marriage cert?

Delphine was admitted to the workhouse here with daughter May. It says husband Arthur No. 88089 R.T.C. Blandford Camp.

Maybe she paired up with William John Eade but was supported througout her pregnancy by Arthur Eade then later married him. I wonder if anone can find a William John Eade listed as florist as his occupation on 1901 or 1911 census as so far no luck.
You are probably correct Shirley that something was going on, but I wonder from the 1911 census where they tell porkies if another game to save face when May born out of wedlock. I am going to dig out their son Arthur' certificate as come to think of it no father at all listed on his 1897 birth certificate!! :-S

Says born May 8th living at 230 Wilmot street. Fathers occ police constable

So born after they married which is odd . They must have been aware that Arthur's name isn't on the birth cert so there was something going on .

Well she and Arthur were living together on the 1901 and 1911 census

Was she the informant on Mays birth cert ?? It she may have made up the name

How do the birth and marriage dates stack up ? Did she marry Arthur after the birth of May

Definately a William John Eade born 1867, Kensington when I do a search for births on genesreunited.

So the mystery is who on earth was William John Eade, florist who is listed as the father of May Eade on her birth certificate?
