Looking for William Blackburn b around 1801 in Yorkshire, Whitby on 1851 census.
He was a tailor and moved to Co Durham, the Stockton area. He possibly married in Yorkshire, wife Ann - unknown.
They are living at Thistle Green, Stockton in the 1841 census with several children. I think the other people listed on the census transcript are not part of the household looking at the original document.
William and some of the children are at Cherry Lane Stockton in the 1851 census but I can't find wife Ann.
I think William died at Stockton in 1860 which explains why I can't find him on another census.
Would love to find out who his wife Ann was and what happened to her. did she marry again - perhaps she is Ann Carr, widow, living at Thistle Green Street, Stockton in 1871 census or is she the Ann Blackburn, widow dressmaker at Pilgrim St Newcastle in the 1861 census ( William was a tailor so she may have been a dressmaker) could be both? any help greatly appreciated.
