Cor Blimey! Alison has picked up on my suggestion that those of you who repost from FB should get subs extensions.

Alison - if only Genes would keep it's paying members to update themselves as has been repeatedly suggested over the years then Genes would not need to look into the idea.

It should NOT be up to some members to update other members. This should be undertaken by Genes.

12th May 2015 Round Up for both April / May

* The FT used to be a lovely blue background, after a while it was changed to boring white. Preference is to choose personal background colour.

- I can see something similar was raised previously but this was for general background. As this specific to FT, it has been raised again as a possible inclusion for future..

* Get rid of 'marked as answered'

- This has been raised previously I can see but as recently re posted and as it seems to be a popular suggestion, we can certainly look into this again.

* Many folk are not familiar with the 'search term construction' requirements for searches within databases. It would be very helpful if genes had some form of guidance box when a member clicks through to Advance Search. (eg use of brackets, quotes, AND, OR, etc.)

- Good idea and very useful – thank you for the suggestion.

Wouldn't it be better to have an Advanced Search that worked, than have guidance on how to use it :-S

I saw two of these recently - must admit I missed that third post but I have had a look at that now.

So for the first one re sent messages? I have checked and it has been reported to the relevant team. I will look into this again today and try and get an update on this for you asap.

The second post re packages ? I know that this is being discussed and it is something close to my own heart if I am honest as it is something that needs to be resolved. Again, as soon as I have an update or news, I will let everyone know.

With regards to your third query and the threads, I can see this was posted originally quite some time ago ? Let me check for you that it is still on the radar, and if it isn't, I shall flag it up again.

The quick search and more importantly I think, the order for these ?

I can see that Shelley responded in February but I can't see if she actually said she would make the suggestion and I can't find that in the suggestions round up I am afraid in February but I will add that in my next one.

Has there been any changes made to the number of attachments that can be sent via GR messages ?

Only able to send one at a time now when you could send several on one message.

GB - you can still send more than one attachment if you >instigate< a message. If you try to do so on a 'reply' then it's only one.

A deafening silence on the question about Advanced Search

Do we have to accept that it will never again be a functioning facility on this site?

And will we have to continue to use google if we wish to find posts on here?

Also 'marked as answered' is still there in all its awfulness!

Seems that the community manager has lost what little interest she had in this site. It would be far better if GR paid one of you ladies to do the job!

Wouldn't want to work for someone (paid or unpaid) when I couldn't give a straight answer or say that there even was going to be an answer or solution.
