Army records for Herbert look to be on Ancestry. Can someone with a sub take a look? Sometimes children are listed. |

I already did Rose, and nothing ... looks like they are records of him (or someone with his name) enlisting before his marriage and they are badly damaged. Unless someone can find a later record? |

Thank you all. I will order Herbert's birth cert in a min. I'm also going to go through all the information you have given me. My nan said Eliza definitely had a daughter Rose and a son Henry/ Harry so I definitely think you've found the right Eliza. Not finding a Denny marrying a Douch really threw me off course. I think my nan has got it round the wrong way and Eliza did get remarried, but to Herbert's dad! He didn't die in the war. I'm not asking my nan anymore! ;-) |
