I have found out that the Cunningham name is Ann Petch's grandmothers maiden name, which i think could be the link. Ann's mothers maiden name is Ireland which is where i found her middle name but she could well have had 2 middle names. |

You're welcome Amanda. I think it could be well worth sending off for a copy of that death certificate, I'd also suggest buying James 1902 marriage certificate to see if there are any clues on there, perhaps an address or the witnesses? |

Thank you so much for the clipping it certainly fits with all the information i have, and it could be the death you have mentioned. |

It seems that Ann Petch may have had a connection with Middlesbrough (where James was in the workhouse 1891) before he was born. |

It would be a great help if anyone could tell me if Ann Petch married or when she died as she just vanished as did James between 1891 census and 1911 census. |

Yes i believe his birth cert was handed down with his possessions, i believe what i have heard is that sometimes the workhouses change their names. I have the date for his marriage but not a copy of the certificate. |
