Is there a way to search the 1891 census by address only. I seem to remember a post telling us how to do it but am unable to find it.Thanks in advance |

Not sure about on Genes records but you can on Findmypast. If you want to give the address I will have a look for you. |

Lock View doesn't show up on the 1891 or 1881 census so it may have been newly built in the 10 years before 1901. The address doesn't show up on Findmypast in 1911 either although it is there in 1901. |

Thanks for taking the time to look Kath. It was the address I was looking at . As you say it must have been built sometime in the 1890s Regards Chris |

The address before it on the 1901 census was "The Grammar School" if that helps with placing it. |

Kath may be right. Bailey Hills comes just before Lock View on 1911 census pages - looks like it has just come into being 1881: |
