Choccy, thank you very much. The reason why Grace, James (Fred), and Dorothy (Doffs) are so hard to find is that, as I have said they were put into care. You seem to have found out where. |

My goodness me but you have all been busy! I can now go back to at least great, great granddad when I have the time but for the time being I want to concentrate on William Henry Augustus's half brothers and sisters. I have the info about Kathleen (Kitty). I think Great uncle Fred was James Frederick, but what about Chazz (Charlie), Grace and Doffs (probably Dorothy)? Somebody (can't remember who has suggested possibles for Grace and Doffs but I can't see the connection. |

Adoption wasn't that rare apparently. I was told that when Great Grandad married his third wife Mary Catherine she placed all 5 (or 6) of his children in Dr. Barnado's, a children's home. |
