I hadn't noticed that my "free" credits have gone. I certainly had no warning from GR and their emails do go into my inbox, not the junk file. I also check the Announcements board regularly and there is nothing on there. GR being inconsistent again I fear. |

Yesterday I 'watched' this thread and double checked that it was ticked in the 'Watched Thread' list. Low and Behold - 3 alert emails this morning :-D |

It seems to be that you have to first 'watch' a thread. Then you have to go into the 'My Watched Threads'. If you want to get email alerts when someone else posts, you have to tick the first column 'Watch' |

I have just seen a brand new user to the site and the boards post a request on Find ancestors today and recieved 16 replies....two hours later he posted the same request on Living relatives board, obviously not realising he had replies to his first thread. |

Agree but you can switch it off if they are too much. |

it may get annoying if you are very active on the boards and you receive an email for every single post, especially if email comes down onto your phone. |

I seem to remember when they started this "watched thread" business a couple of years ago it went wrong and people were recieving 100+ emails for one reply. |

:-D Cynthia, considering I have 97 pages of threads I've started myself I would be snowed under if I got an email every time someone added ;-) |
