Well, frankly, I would be less than happy if I found that someone was researching my home without having consulted me

It comes under the heading 'courtesy', in my book

I wasn't questioning your motives.........I'm sure they are entirely altruistic

However, on a purely practical note...if you haven't spoken to the house's owners about this, how do you know that they don't already have all the info? Or that they are even remotely interested in it?

Ozi, I thankyou for your help, thanks to you I can know build up a history of the past resident's of Berkeley House for the current owners, who have no knowledge of the house history and are very keen to know any information.
It is beyond me why anyone would ask for research help from very kind people on the net if this was not the case, Reggie.
Thanks to all that helped.
