I can not find Florence Marden Calver nee Morris b 1884 in the 1911 Census. She is my Great grandmother and married Arthur william Calver in 1903, their first child Arthur Calver was born in 1904 and was resident at 19 Andover Road Twickenham with his grandmother in 1911. I can not find either Florence or Arthur in 1911. I know that they had at least 3 children after this time including my grandfather Herbert in 1917. I know Arthur did leave Florence but have photos of the family circ. 1925 so must have been together until about then.

Florence Dowson b 1885 is on the 1911 Census living in 2 rooms with husband Edward and son Henry b 1909 at 19 Andover Road Twickenham. Strangely Henry (known as Uncle Harry to my mother) changed his name to Calver in 1941, the year after Edward's death. I cannot find a marriage record for Florence and Edward.

Is this some family scandal, how can I find out more or is it purely coincidence?
Any assistance appreciated.

I don't understand this. You say that Arthur Calver born 1904 was living at 19 Andover Road Twickenham with his grandmother. However this is the record for 19 Andover Road, Twickenham:-

Thiat entry is for 2 rooms, 3 rooms were for Mary Morris (Florence's mother), Arthur Calver, Ada Butler (Florence sister) and her 3 children.
That is why it seems so weird that Florence Dowson lives so close.

Florence had 3 more children with Arthur with my grnadad being the youngest in 1917 and Edward did not die until 1940.

I may have to get Henry's certificate to see if the parents name.

It's very confusing and noone alive to ask.

Arthur William I have as being born Isleworth 1884/85 - according to his marriage certificate.

So, she had further children with Arthur...........if he'd been cuckolded, and taken her back, he'd have made sure she did

How do you know where he was born? That isn't listed on marriage certs? Who was his father?

Read it wrong that is where he was resident at time of narriage. The only birth record is 1885 Tendring Essex. His father is named George, a wheelwright.
