I think if the record exists it will be on Ancestry. Note the problem as stated above that most records no longer exist. |

This is the only Manchester one I can see, but wrong birth year. Records are transcribed on Ancestry, but be aware 60-70% were destroyed during a bombing raid in WW2. |

As you may know about 70% of WW1 service records were unfortunately destroyed by fire in 1940. |
