IF they survived - only about 30% did - they MAY be found on Ancestry

I'll check for you, if you give me his details...........

Would you like to give us his name and date of birth and area? It is possible that there may be a copy online, although many of the records were destroyed.

Share his information and people will try to help.

WW2 records are not in the public domain, they are still held by the MOD and are only available to the actual person or NOK which has to proven.
You wil not find them online
Have a look at this link

The veterans site gives info on how to obtain record of service personnel who's service ended after 1920/22 they are held by the MOD

for service records of personnel who's service ended before 1920 you need the national archives or you can download them from ancestry assuming they have your man listed

But around 60% where destroyed in WW2 so they may no longer exist but the medal card index survived so it is possible to still find limited info on him

also see http://www.greatwar.co.uk/research/military-records/british-soldiers-ww1-service-records.htm
