Thanks for that,
I think this may be another Hannah.
Ihave found Hannah Winterbottom DOB 1842 and her parents, in the 1851 census of lancashire/royton.
living with With Hannah (maiden name ?)1801c and John Winterbottom 1799c
There youngest Daughter was born 1833 so marriage could be about right.
dont know if you can throw any more light on this.

what were the names of Hannah (1842) siblings? You could perhaps find them on lan-opc.org.uk or on lancashirebmd.org.uk for any born after 1837 which would confirm Hannah's mother's maiden name

I don't have access to census info so cannot see names myself

How do you know that the Hannah you found in 1851 is the one who married John Taylor?

Hers is a common name in Lancs - and until you know her father's details from her marriage cert, you can't be sure.

lancashireAnn

lancashireAnn Report 8 Jun 2012 11:33

also this would be Joshua's birth showing mmn as Winterbottom

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1874
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Mother's Maiden Name Reference
TAYLOR Joshua Royton Oldham WINTERBOTTOM ROY/24/277

To try to identify Hannah Winterbottom's mother's name it would be useful to know the names and dob of any brothers or sisters she may have had

Lancs OPC is a great website, lots of transcriptions for parish registers. Do take a look.
