I wonder if anyone could help me please with the following?
I am trying to find my Uncle's marriage. I know that he was
married in Pontypridd in 1928. His name was Arthur Leonard Baylis
and he married a Louisa Owen. I have found three Louisa Owens
i.e.b 1905,1906 and 1907in Pontypridd but short of sending off for
one marriage cert and three birth certs is there any way of finding
which Louisa it is please? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thelma

Do you know when your auntie died? Was it shortly after they married? Is this a possibility? (The marriage was in 1926 not 1928)

You don't need to send for one marriage cert and three birth certs,

The marriage cert should give you her fathers name and occupation unless she was illegitimate

you can then look on the 1911 census for her with parents,

this should help to ID the correct birth

I'll check that out. Arthur was one of 12 children, the
youngest being my dear Dad David Llewellyn Baylis who sadly is no
longer here.

My maternal side is even more involved as there were at least 4 generations
born in Calcutta. This is going to be a very long job.

The marriage to Serritella is of a Dorothy M Bayliss - so a different Dorothy?

How do you know she was adopted? That was only marked in the birth indexes in the 60s-80s.
