I know my gt gt grandparents married after 25 years as living as man and wife as both had been married before and I would think one of their ex spouses was still alive somewhere

Seem to me that Alys Rosa and Frank Vernon only married as a paper exercise later in their years. Was this common place?

Looks like from the 'Coombes or Reinmann', Alys had been using the surname Coombes before she married Frank
