Hello Kim,

I have found a Mary Adams on the 1901 census married to a George Adams in Warwickshire. This mary is also born in Bombay! She is the same age as the Mary I am looking for. His occupation is a Gun Maker.
It seems such a coincidence that two Mary Adams born in Bombay in the same year. What do you think?

Thank you for all your work you have done for me. I have been away for a couple of days so have not been on the computer.

I will get all the facts together and contact you during the week. I live in Bexhill which is next to Hastings and there are so many mugridges still living in this area. I actually went to visit some of the houses they lived in on the 1841, 1851, 1861 and 1871 censuses. I took photos for my cousin who I am helping with the Mugridges.
We are both from the Gardiner family in Hull. I was actually born in Hull.

I've looked on the British Library website, which has free access to papers of the Indian Office (http://indiafamily.bl.uk) and on the indexed armed forces and overseas BMDs but there's no reference to a Mary Mugridge or Spurling at around that date, I'm afraid.

If you need alook up in Hull PRs, send me a pm and I'll see if I can find it for you - I go into the LDS library about once a week and they have most registers for this area.

I am looking for a Mary Mugridge born approx 1871. She appears on the census 1891 in Hull, Yorkshire under the name of Mary Adams. I am assuming her maiden name was Mugridge, it could have been Spurling.
