Hi Summer

Have you tried the 'Trying to Find' board on here - there are some very helpful people with good knowledge of Irish records.

I have used rootsireland, my research is in Southern Ireland. It's free to search but at 5 euro a look it's not cheap - ok if you have don't have a common name! Not all counties covered yet.

Also Familysearch - none of my lot on there unfortunately!!

It's not easy - GR is probably your best bet.

Good luck

Hi

I need to do some research for my Irish ancestors but am not sure what website is the best . It is mainly the north of Ireland, Down etc so I dont know if that makes a difference. I dont want to join one for a years membership but would prefer just using pay to view sources.
I have tried free searches on the Ancestry site but I cannot get anywhere with it as it says Irish then gives me countries from all over.
Has anyone used emerald ancerstors or roots ireland.?If so what one would you recommend? Any other ideas welcome.

Thanks
