I recall seeing a similar query somewhere else recently and the conclusion seemed to point to Folieburn being Fala Dam Burn, which can be seen on decent maps. |

I would have thought Falaburn/Fala Burn is a strong possibility? |

Like Potty, I can't find a Folieburn - sounds like a farm name from a parish register. |

Thru 1929, a register office marr was a religious ceremony of a C of S flavour. If you didn't like that, an irregular marr was your best alternative. In the 1920s, abt 13% of marrs were irregular - I don't know if that's actual marrs or registered ones. By law, one of the couple was responsible for registering an irregular marr - I think the penalty for not doing so was a fine up to 5s. |

Joe is it OK for me to give the tree owner your email address and ask him to contact you that way? |

Well done, Helen. Is that 1851 from freecen? I think it must be missed off of Ancestry - can't find it there even doing an Address search! |

I can't find a Folieburn anywhere in Scotland - possible the name of a farm or house? |
